Epower and Building 2022

The Istanbul Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Metals Exporters' Association (IDDMIB) proudly took part in the esteemed Epower and Building 2022 Fair, a notable event dedicated to the Building and Construction Materials sector. The fair was held in the culturally rich city of Madrid, Spain, and spanned over four days from November 15th to 18th, 2022. IDDMIB marked its presence at the fair with a well-organized information stand.

The fair, celebrating its 21st edition in 2022, has been a key event in the industry since its initiation in 1990. Epower and Building 2022 Fair was set up in a sprawling area of 19,510 square meters. The event is distinctive as it simultaneously hosts six separate fairs dedicated to various sectors, namely, door, window, exterior, blinds and awning, electricity and lighting, construction chemicals, and insulation.

Earning a reputation as one of the world's most prestigious building materials fairs, it boasted an impressive attendance of 80,000 visitors and 1,600 exhibitors back in 2018. As of the 2022 edition, the fair attracted the participation of five individual participants and 75 national participants.

The Construction Materials Industry's exports to Spain saw a commendable uptick in the period from January to October 2022. The exports amounted to 474 million USD, marking a significant increase of 17.7% when compared to the corresponding period in 2021. Furthermore, the export quantity to Spain during the January-October 2022 period reported a remarkable surge of 46.7% when juxtaposed with the same period of the previous year, totaling at 802 thousand tons. These figures underline the thriving trade relations and mutual growth prospects between the parties involved.
